Panel: Citizen Journalists and The Story of Us

This powerful session will center around remarks by Jose Antonio Vargas, a Pulitzer-winning journalist who last year revealed that he is an undocumented immigrant and has since launched DefineAmerican.com, a project to change the way the media covers immigration. His remarks will be followed by an all-star panel discussion of how in this period of political, technological and social flux, the line between citizen and journalist is blurring. Vargas, author/activist Paul Loeb, journalist/advocate Courtney E. Martin, LA Times columnist/commons-builder Gregory Rodriguez, and YES! magazine editor Sarah van Gelder engage in a lively conversation with celebrated television host Warren Etheredge.
